TEACHING & SERVICE

I greatly enjoy teaching and discussing archaeology, anthropology, and art history with students! I’ve grown as a teacher through my experiences as a teaching assistant since 2010 and as an autonomous Instructor of Record since 2013.

TEACHING INTERESTS
Experiential and hands-on learning; non-traditional assessment; community outreach; social relevance and ethics; educational virtual game development; undergraduate writing
I have also recently developed an interest in developing “pop culture” courses based on the connections between certain books, shows, or movies and anthropology. I’ve written about this topic on the University of Toronto Press Teaching Culture site. These courses offer unique experiences for students to use their favorite stories and characters as bridges to foundational anthropological topics and issues.
